The GirlGuiding Family

Guides

The programme for guides is extensive and includes activities that can be done indoors or out. Being a guide offers many challenges, and you get to do many adventurous activities outside.

As a guide, you work in a team with other girls called a patrol. There are all sorts of things you can try with the others. While you keep up with the fun and the action, you learn new skills which help you grow and become part of a great group.

Gaining badges is a real challenge and lots of fun. All you need to do is take part, do your best and enjoy what you do. You can do some of the activities at home or in your patrol or unit.

Here’s some of the things you get to do:

Camp Badges

One of the many cool things about guiding is getting the opportunity to spend time camping. You can learn heaps about the outdoors and take part in fun team-building activities and it's a great way to make friends. There are a variety of camping programmes for you to take part in and below are some of our camp badges.

Go with Gidget & Keep on Going with Gidget

This challenge introduces you to the guide programme. It gives you a background to the traditions that Lord Baden-Powell first started and which continue today. Each time a set of four clauses has been achieved you will be given a small GO sign to go around your Go with Gidget badge.

Theme Programmes

These cover a huge variety of activities on different themes - you, or your group might like to try some of these fun activities indoors or out. Each theme has 20 activities.

When you’ve done six activities from a theme, you get a sticker to put on a special certificate, which you will have already chosen. When you have done four themes you get to choose a theme badge which to sew on your sash.

Some theme programmes are - Act Up, Flying Things, Heat, Tuned In, Ropes and Poles and Sub Zero. The badges are rad, check them out. [click here]
